“Falphabet” is a typographic project inspired by the nautical, industrial, and creative character of Falmouth. It began with an extensive collection of found and photographed typography from around the town, which I then refined through a selective process to create a unique typeface. The final outcome included the typeface itself, a hand-bound Coptic publication, two sets of playing cards, and a flip-book - designed to share the sense of typographic experimentation and delight that I experienced throughout the project.
